Yo yo yo! My name is Allie, and I am freelance journalist at the moment. I graduated from Gonzaga University with a degree in journalism and public relations with a minor in visual literacy in May 2022. Go Zags!
Talking to new people and groups about their passions, projects and plans, creating a cohesive written story and sharing that with the world is my favorite part about journalism. Print journalism lives forever, and it's a beautiful way to capture big moments, hard happenings, badass people's accomplishments, human feelings and little stories that matter. As a reporter at the Source Weekly in Bend, OR, I wrote feature stories and two weekly columns, one about outdoor events and one about the Central Oregon music scene. My position as the calendar editor included gathering, editing, combing and publishing information on all the events happening in Central Oregon. In college, I wrote and edited for the Gonzaga Bulletin, The Spokesman Review, Edible Inland Northwest, Magenta Florence and Tuscan Trends. Find my work in the 'Articles' section of this site. Aside from writing, some of my hobbies include skiing, volleyball, backpacking, hiking, gardening, basketball, ceramics, writing letters, playing guitar, hanging out with my friends and eating delicious food. Through blogs, photos and articles in the community, this platform serves as a space for me to hold onto memories, do what I love and share it with the people that are willing to follow along. |
